<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@whitequark" class="u-url mention">@<span>whitequark</span></a></span> <br />Are all "security camera" manufactures just shit?</p><p>This reminds me of the first year in the industry when I had to deal with migrating some XP machine with Abus cameras to windows 7.</p><p>Their website somehow had code to write the file to disk instead of just downloading it (required internet explorer). And that however didn't work because the sandbox has only read-only access to the disk.<br />So I had to figure out how to grant the sandbox rw access to a folder first...</p>

That sucks.</p><p>My maternal great-grandparents came over ~1914-16 pre-revolution from Lithuania/Latvia and there were a few that smuggled themselves over the Polish/German border a few years earlier. <br />Even though I've forgotten it, I grew up in Russian & Polish speaking households. I've always considered my family to be an immigrant family, FWIW.</p>
