<p>I didn&#39;t like flus and colds in the pre-covid world, but even without the long term risks - learning that you can avoid like a solid 90% of common respiratory seasonal illnesses by just masking in spaces where there is literally 0 upside to not masking has been incredibly life changing. Why weren&#39;t we always doing this? Why don&#39;t all clinics and doctors&#39; offices have mask policies?</p>

<p>I do feel like there must be something wrong with my perception of the world as people have just accepted catching covid 2-3 times a year in exchange for... dining inside shitty restaurants and not having to mask on public transit, at the doctors, or in cinemas?</p><p>I mean, is it weird to think that being sick actually fucking sucks? That catching a respiratory illness, even without all the long-term effects, is at minimum an unpleasant week when you include recovery?</p>
