I mean, technically you don't *have* to, but it will assume the connection is down any time the computer is off, which sort of messes up your stats (and gets you some spurious downtime notifications), if you care about that.</p><p>It will run on a small device like a Raspberry Pi though. Probably could be made to run on a router/internet gateway as well, though that could be complicated.</p>
