<p>It&#39;s annoying because there&#39;s plenty of solid pro-piracy or anti-DRM arguments available, and plenty of reasons why moving ownership to a usage rights model is a bad long-term move. We don&#39;t need to co-opt the moral high ground with some fancy, yet wrong, wordplay.</p><p>&lt;/rant&gt;</p>
<p>&lt;rant&gt;</p><p>I&#39;ve seen the age old &quot;if buying is not owning, piracy is not stealing&quot; mantra about 10 times this week already and it&#39;s just... annoying?</p><p>Piracy *is* a type of theft by definition, in the same way that sneaking into a theatre is a form of theft. That&#39;s just... what the word means.</p>
