so remember when I was joking about replacing FR-4 prepreg with a layer of barium titanate ceramic so you could have your entire power and ground layers act like a big distributed capacitor?

yeah turns out 3M had the same idea. they ground up a bunch of barium titanate, mixed it into their epoxy, and used it to make a line of fiberglass dielectrics for high embedded capacitance within PCBs. it achieves 14nF/in² and they sell it under the name "C-Ply".

https://www.ipc.org/system/files/technical_resource/E10%26S22_02.pdf

#electronics

Trying to watch educational videos (I prefer text, but this is language content so I need sound) and finding I wish I could wire a foot pedal to make the video speed up to 150% temporarily to get past slow explanations between the stuff I'm there for. I actually do have a USB foot pedal so maybe I could make this happen.

"denial of service" sounds like a type of kink a robot angelgirl would be into

Q: why do ASIC designers sometimes hallucinate briefly after getting out of bed?
A: fell asleep in the RC-best corner

Q: why do ASIC designers sleep on circular beds?
A: this is a common misconception! the truth is that ASIC designers are interested in as many corners as possible. due to the explosion of process complexity, as many as 126 corners have been used recently, which to an uninitiated eye may appear as a circle
