Not even a TV and VCR. So one day they had us walk all over the town, on a cloudy and cold morning, to a *bar* that had a TV and VCR, so we could watch Home Alone.</p><p>We all pitched together some money (our parents sent us with money, I mean) and got Cokes and toasted sandwiches for us, and coffee and sandwiches for the teachers.</p><p>This was like 30+ years ago. 😅</p>

<p>I noticed that necktie 👔 for male academics, and neckscarf and pearl necklace 🦪 for female academics are now disappearing. </p><p>I think Gen X started this no-necktie suit. Only boomers still wear striped neckties.
