<p>I work at a startup. I joined when the entire company fit around a conference table. It was not at all clear that we&#39;d ever ship a product.</p><p>Did I take on risk? Sure -- I took a paycut and the risk that I might have to cut back expenses and be careful, maybe look for a job again in a couple years. I moved into a smaller place. Boo fricking hoo.</p><p>I think the last job I had that involved legitimate risk was working as a bouncer, but we don&#39;t have a &quot;30 under 30&quot; for bouncers. Or nurses.</p>
