<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@gamingonlinux" class="u-url mention">@<span>gamingonlinux</span></a></span> </p><p>*The Phantasy Star series (from the sega genesis, ending in Phantasy Star 4) have some of the best worldbuilding in any videogame, -ever-.</p><p>*Skyrim is a shitty mediocre game that would have been forgotten if it were not so moddable, and we only remember it thanks to modders.</p><p>*The Ultima Series (from the 80s) remain a great series that tried to do things not done for decades afterwards generally, and some things not done at all since (Ultima 4 plot).</p><p>*Baldurs Gate 2, fully modded, is better than Baldurs Gate 3 at current, but good luck getting it there. My BG2 full mod install at one point was &gt; 30 gb, not bad for a 1998 game.</p>
