Whole-known-network

Having fixed by now about half of various plumbing fixtures in my house, the biggest lesson I learned is: don't give up.

When wet, slimy parts are strewn across the floor and that stupid nut just refuses to budge, or that leak keeps resurfacing again and again… it's easy to despair and feel like you'll never put it back together. Which could mean not having water in the entire house for who knows how long?

This is when need to keep breathing and do methodically what you can. It'll work out.

(yes, testosterone, despite the (incorrect) popular perception, makes me softer, calmer, and less snappy)

being back on testosterone (and estradiol, of course) is so fucking great. i actually feel alive now

this bed is so soft and cuddles are very comfy and i can have a hours long heartfelt conversation about a heavy topic without it lowkey breaking me from fatigue

*finally*

Mastodon isn't perfect.

But the fact a social network exists that is completely free to use

has no venture capital investors

has no shareholders to answer to

has no growth targets

with a web interface with zero tracking cookies

and mobile apps with zero trackers at all

with ten thousand server administrators who donate their time for user safety

is - in my opinion - mindbogglingly cool, given the state of the world we live in. Not everything has to be shit. People make things better.
