I think courts might decide that because it&#39;s irreversible, that the government can&#39;t just rescind this. (I realize this is just one, narrow, issue.)</p>

One can only hope the courts acknowledge the sheer intrusiveness and impracticality of this and strike it down, somehow. (IANAL.)</p>
<p>And if so, are they going to pull back passports and notify employers that they are rescinding changes?</p><p>Back in the day, we needed a surgeons letter to changes sex in SSA records and on passports. It&#39;s not like we can revisit genital surgery, and I sure hope there will be lawsuits about this. 2/2</p>
<p>I haven&#39;t seen the exact language, but one of Trump&#39;s executive orders was to define a person’s gender/sex to be what they were assigned at birth.</p><p>Implementing this is going to get really messy really fast.</p><p>Of course, many states allowed birth certificates to be amended. How are they going to track this?</p><p>Are they going to ask Social Security Administration and Passport Office to figure out what changes of sex in records happened, and try to go back? 1/2</p>
