I really can't understate how much I'm enjoying my "hard way" journey with Rust this summer. The "hard way" meaning (a) Typing in things myself, (b) Not using an IDE, (c) No LLMs, (d) Making a lot of mistakes (e) Experimenting, and (f) Figuring things on my own.

Honestly, it's been the most fun coding I've had in a long while.

@gamingonlinux I'd happily donate to them if they split off a non-profit for preservation work. I don't donate to for-profit enterprises.

today's nightmare: an extremely vivid and detailed first-person view of having a miscarriage while some cop takes an unusual amount of interest in my body and makes remarks. complete with waking up with relevant phantom pain

that's a new one for me i hope it doesn't become a trend

@gamingonlinux it doesn't bother me and I'll probably add a buck here and there.
But I have the feeling it might deter some others? I could be totally wrong on that, it's just a feeling. So I hope that doesn't impact GoG negatively and instead just gives them some extra funds.

LAPD and the counties of San Diego, Orange, and Riverside have repeatedly shared automated license plate reader data to federal agencies. https://themarkup.org/privacy/2025/06/18/california-police-are-illegally-sharing-license-plate-data-with-ice-and-border-patrol
