<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@whitequark" class="u-url mention">@<span>whitequark</span></a></span> Over the years I've seen a repeating pattern of "wait for build system to finish" and *then* adjust the result to fit the deployment, and it makes complete sense. I think that the system linker and tooling should be supporting more transformative use cases like this, including additional padding in all DT_STRTAB entries referenced from DT_RPATH or DT_RUNPATH, or additional padding in PT_DYNAMIC for extra tags. Doing it early means being able to keep more security hardening enabled.</p>
