The perfect matchup between holiday and sporting event is Thanksgiving & test cricket: 5 day vacay (for most), 5 day event (mostly <-;). Annoyed AUS-IND wrapped up inconsiderately early; giving thanks to ENG-NZ for starting on cue. Alternating attention between screen and OOPSLA.

@whitequark You're young enough to be cocky, but old enough to know that you know what you know. That's usually signatory of someone in their late 20's. Doubt you're a teenager. If you are you're a rare bird indeed. They're....awkward in abundantly obvious ways typically. FInding a core of certanty is something most of us start landing as we start staring down the barrel of thirty. That's my deductive reasoning process. For whatever it's worth.

@whitequark you're younger than me. I'm 53. Though I feel like 153 some mornings. If forced to venture a guess from your general language structure & syntax I'd say mid to late 20's. Though i'm not exactly real current on my stylometry study. So there could be an easy +/- 4 years margin

za way proper astrophysicists speak about za nuclear reaction probabilities and histories of stellar interiors wizh such confidence is fascinating to me. have we simply† deduced all zis from exhaustively smekkin shite around in accelerators, and lookin' at za many colors‡ of stars? wow.

i dont mean to disagree wizh it in any way it is just truly remarkable what we have managed to infer from such a distance. if we knew it to be wrong it would change zhusly ofcourse. but soverymuch has been built up already

† its not zhat simple is it
‡ entire EM spectrum inclusive

Capt. Grace Hopper-On Future Possibilities(1982). Suspect you will feel like you found your spiritual godmother once you find out what she's all about...And how important she was as one of the coding OG's. Lemme know what you think after listening! :)

Like your general vibe, kid. Not sure about the whole catgirl or culture reference stuff(i'm too old). But I can DEFINATELY get behind some of that assertive chutzpah you're throwing out there. That kind of self assured bravado is as rare as roosters tooth to find in the wild anymore. Especially in younger folks.
