These things have to be fought tooth and nail in my opinion and seeing people like you, who are both technically competent and are seeing through the double speak that gets put out by companies like this, directly intervene is so important and encouraging, thank you for doing so in the Chicago area. There is a huge emphasis on &quot;personal identifying information&quot; and &quot;data retention&quot;, but it&#39;s entirely centered around video footage. For example, images don&#39;t show faces or passengers. The contracts also state that the video footage belongs to the city and no one else. Ok, fine.</p><p>But, what about the plate number? Clearly it&#39;s run against a DB. Are there logs? Who owns that? A lot of details are fuzzy.</p>
