I stayed subscribed to the main Python mailing list for years beyond when it was directly useful to me, just because of the overall quality of the discussion.</p><p>I think <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@cfbolz" class="u-url mention">@<span>cfbolz</span></a></span> hits the nail on the head: at a certain point in size, a community/polity is going to change in some way, and that will also change the thing they&#39;ve gathered around. I suppose I should use the &quot;riding the tiger&quot; cliche here!</p>

They also have passion projects, but theirs are stuff like private and affordable video conferencing.</p>
