I understand that public services such as journalism should be subsidized by taxes. Good journalism keeps democracies alive. But that is just idealism. There isn't a good way of making sure the journalists aren't influenced to talk positively about the government if the government is paying them.</p>

I haven't revisited Ubuntu since so I don't know if this is still a problem, but it was a problem that a normal user could face</p>
