@Hornybot@bae.st marble floor is a terrible place to have sex

@fasterthanlime One of my first big projects in grad school was to build a dataflow analysis tool in valgrind, inspired by Perl's taint mode. I followed the naming convention of valgrind's other plugins like memcheck, and called it taintcheck.

I didn't find out about the other meaning until I was preparing a conference presentation and tried doing image searches for "taint" 🤯 💀

I got myself some Loop earplugs a month or so ago based on recommendations from other neurodivergent friends.

I still don’t quite understand how they are able to reduce background noise while making it easier to hear conversations. But they do seem to work!

I thought about it, then I thought it about I wrote about it, then I thought about it I shared it about, then I thought it about Methinks about things, and it makes me think... it :acat_deranged:
@maxine@den.raccoon.quest @mja@comp.lain.la > saying antisemetic things and hurting your friends or their friends or people they follow or whatever is just worse off for you. this side is fedi is already excluded from everywhere and seen as disposible and unwanted, i think a lot of people here would benefit greatly from extending a bit of empathy to each other yes, and I shouldn't have said what I did. but it seems like total bullshit to me that I get called out for saying something that could be vaguely interpreted as dogwhistling that I was hostile to jewish people in general, whereas people who talk about how they plan to kill half their mutuals after their revolution and how "Stalin didn't go far enough" and who have repeatedly fantasized about imprisoning or killing me and who in that very thread told me to drink bleach, don't ever get told that they need to "extend a bit of empathy". I'm not a leftist and I don't believe that the side that's right in a conflict is which ever is less "problematic", and I'm not going to let people guilt-trip me over this. that said I don't think this conversation is going anywhere, so, I'd like to end it. I am thankful you don't seem to see me as a bad person at least
@nemesis@the.asbestos.cafe @mja@comp.lain.la personally i have little stake in interpersonal drama but i do feel obligated to call out what i believe to be antisemetic. i'm interested in defending the thoughts and ideas of people im mutuals with, or even just people i follow and like seeing. im just more concerned in the human side of it, why feels the way they do. so i'm not calling it out for ideological reasons but because saying antisemetic things and hurting your friends or their friends or people they follow or whatever is just worse off for you. this side is fedi is already excluded from everywhere and seen as disposible and unwanted, i think a lot of people here would benefit greatly from extending a bit of empathy to each other.
