Completely agree with your assessment, but I think it needs a qualification: To the best of my knowledge, AT and DE were the leading centers of medical research at the time, and their opinion was also strongly racist. Leading opinion carries a lot of weight, I&#39;m afraid, and we know best how fragile that is, all too often.</p>

It does convert the energy to heat and often the cause of death would be smoke inhalation and inability to escape due to broken limbs. Statistically most survivors were sitting at the back of the aeroplane.</p>
