@jgobble the timing is what it is. I didn’t get my laptop and stuff online until today or else I would’ve announced Monday which was my official start date. I don’t ask or expect anyone to not have opinions and I respect them 100%. Regardless, I’m still really excited about the team I’m joining and the work I’ll be doing.

@jgobble I obviously didn’t know about the changes when I signed my offer letter last month. Regardless, I’m still really excited about the work and the team I’ll be joining and doing. The timing is the timing. 🤷🏻‍♀️

@jgobble @lisamelton my hesitation with FastMail was I just have too many separate addresses and domains and it can become expensive quickly, but if you already pay for GWorkspace, the difference might be negligible. MXRoute is small and scrappy and good enough especially if you use a third-party mail client (they have web front ends too but FastMail or Proton’s will prob be better). I think I’ve been with them for 5 years now as my secondary mail host and no issues so far.

You know what, I think I'm done censoring myself and not reacting to wrong takes, which was my default position of many years. We can't afford being neutral and quiet anymore.

Current mood: I'm really frustrated with lefties turning everything into a purity test. If we want to counteract the world's descent into fascism, we need to learn not to call each other "enemies" for random transgressions like buying a Tesla car or not being vegan or whatever.
