Cato, a Roman senator, when asked what was the most profitable venture, he replied: “Raising cattle successfully."

2nd best? “Raising cattle with fair success.”
3rd? “Raising cattle with slight success.”
4th? “Crops.”

“How about banking?”

Cato replied: “How about murder?”

… hmm. i realise i am noting these out of insecurity. so, uh, fuck that.

i'm learning! and it's fun! this is a good way to get my feet wet on this stuff. i look forward to more complicated stuff later. and doing it in tandem with my other interests and projects!

(joystick, keyboard and controller design! control panels! my LED glowstaff project I have burbling away in the background!)

For better or worse I default to bodging stuff together; I'm only grudgingly reaching for "get a PCB made" because doing a bunch of these LEDs with tiny footprints on a protoboard (particularly the second board in my order with a run of SK6812-SIDEs with their ~0.3mm-pitch connectors) would make me cry

I'm very much playing on easy-mode here; it's just a string of neopixels, connected to a big off-board decoupling cap and a dev board (likely the Seeed SAMD21 or something else with easy circuitpython support, so I can slap something together to reduce the amount of Learning I need to front load).
