<p>Well, that was weird. Go out for our anniversary unknowing that we booked a table at the last *ever* service at the famous Arun&#39;s Thai restaurant, closing after 39 years. Met Arun. Ended up on the local news as well. <a href="https://www.fox32chicago.com/news/aruns-thai-restaurant-closes-after-almost-four-decades-chicagos-northwest-side" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">fox32chicago.com/news/aruns-th</span><span class="invisible">ai-restaurant-closes-after-almost-four-decades-chicagos-northwest-side</span></a></p>
<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@film_girl" class="u-url mention">@<span>film_girl</span></a></span> Well, from my point of view the swapping looks weird but I&#39;m not the one with hearing impairment.</p><p>Talking about that, how&#39;s the situation for hearing impairments earphones and the like? Last time I checked, these were hell more expensive and people recommended AirPods for that reason alone: decent for the price and bonus points if you have an iPhone, which are very good for accessibility.</p>
<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@mcc" class="u-url mention">@<span>mcc</span></a></span> the kernel version is just whatever you install</p><p>nothing stops you from using stable kernel on testing, except systemd sometimes (but you should be fine)</p>
<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@mcc" class="u-url mention">@<span>mcc</span></a></span> i run a weird mix of stable+testing which works fine too</p>
<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@whitequark" class="u-url mention">@<span>whitequark</span></a></span> ok. actually i guess here&#39;s the question, are they running different kernels</p>
<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@mcc" class="u-url mention">@<span>mcc</span></a></span> it depends, sometimes you do want it running natively</p><p>upgrading to testing is ~trivial</p>
<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@whitequark" class="u-url mention">@<span>whitequark</span></a></span> hm</p><p>i was hoping that if i ever wanted to run anything not-outdated i could just do it in a flatpak</p><p>how hard is it to upgrade stable to testing once i&#39;m in? it&#39;s just i&#39;ve been in ubuntu 24 for a year and it&#39;s constantly dropping me new bleeding edge versions of things and s t u f f k e e p s b r e a k i n g</p>
<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@mcc" class="u-url mention">@<span>mcc</span></a></span> (you almost certainly want to run testing)</p>
