<p>the BadRAM thing leaves me surprised that folks haven't done more investigation into SPD chip shenanigans. I talked about this exact attack vector and its use as a covert data exfiltration method for insider threats in a talk a bunch of years ago. the 8-pin SMBus flash they use is even directly pin-compatible with certain ATTiny MCUs if you want to attack SMBus with a malicious DIMM.</p>
