<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://hachyderm.io/@danderson" class="u-url mention">@<span>danderson</span></a></span> yeah! the cool thing about glasgow is that it provides a whole bunch of other tools alongside &quot;parallel flash programming&quot;</p>
<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@whitequark" class="u-url mention">@<span>whitequark</span></a></span> hmm, weird. usually works ok for me.</p>
<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://chaos.social/@gsuberland" class="u-url mention">@<span>gsuberland</span></a></span> done that before and the outcome is that the stencil massively warps therefore shifting the balls quite a lot</p>
<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://hachyderm.io/@danderson" class="u-url mention">@<span>danderson</span></a></span> it depends on your expectations, actually</p><p>for &quot;modern&quot; parallel flash (1.8 to 5 V single/double supply), all you need is a shift register for address lines; add that to your favorite socket and maybe a few jumpers for picking where Vsupply goes, and you&#39;re golden! it works out of the box with minimal configuration</p><p>for ancient parallel flash with weird programming voltages (negative/high) this is a &quot;draw the rest of the owl&quot; project for the Vpp part</p>
<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@whitequark" class="u-url mention">@<span>whitequark</span></a></span> try heating it directly in the frame, with the stencil in place. the solder balls will preferentially stick to the pads, not the stencil.</p>
<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://hachyderm.io/@danderson" class="u-url mention">@<span>danderson</span></a></span> psst, glasgow has a paralell flash programming mode, it just needs a few components on the adapter to really shine</p>
<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://chaos.social/@gsuberland" class="u-url mention">@<span>gsuberland</span></a></span> tried that, it ends up clogging the holes and lifting the balls with the stencil</p>
