It's a 38" ultrawide with a USB hub built into it. So you just connect the USB cable to the laptop and the screen does everything else. I'm considering buying a hub, as the one I have doesn't support 4k, but I really don't want to since my other machines work fine with what I have.</p>

I'd wager that Plasma with SDDM as the login manager would fix all of those issues. Even the ugliness of Libreoffice. And given you're a Mac guy, you'd just be way more comfortable in a Plasma environment anyway.</p>
