(I meanwhile find that the small delays and extra cognitive load are like nails on a chalkboard lol)

the main thing I took away from it was that it's probably slower for a lot of people but also maybe that's ok? like, if you enjoy the vibes of going oldschool hackerman with the complicated textual editor thingy, then that's cool.

R. R stands for Restarting the project after a two-year hiatus. (It's my wife's, I'm just documenting.)

#darktable

recently watched a guy coding in vim and it struck me just how abysmally slow he was compared to a regular gui editor.

occasionally pulling off some cool nerd shit with external tool invokes but for a lot of the basic navigation and selection tasks being performed several times a minute it was waaaaaaaay slower.

(please miss me with the "skill issue, I'm a speed demon with this shit" takes, yes I know you all love these editors and will be very offended that I deigned to mildly denigrate them)

@gsuberland I think this is number 2.

Top for me is the only accident that was *personally witnessed by USCSB investigators there investigating a previous, nearly identical explosion*.

Here's a hint: when you've already screwed up bad enough that the CSB is showing up asking questions, and you say you're gonna do something, and their response is to *take cover behind a shipping container*...

You should probably seriously question whether they know something you don't.

the company's slogan being "initial success or total failure" is just too funny

the report describes their procedures as "flawed" which is incredibly generous.

I think I'd go with "utterly fucking batshit".

"yeah bro we'll just cut up fireworks with metal tools and no PPE"

this is definitely the most ridiculous accident USCSB has ever covered

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rktMzw2fd28
