<p>recently watched a guy coding in vim and it struck me just how abysmally slow he was compared to a regular gui editor.</p><p>occasionally pulling off some cool nerd shit with external tool invokes but for a lot of the basic navigation and selection tasks being performed several times a minute it was waaaaaaaay slower.</p><p>(please miss me with the &quot;skill issue, I&#39;m a speed demon with this shit&quot; takes, yes I know you all love these editors and will be very offended that I deigned to mildly denigrate them)</p>
