If Linux needs so much fenagaling, is it actually superior?</p><p>It's definitely superior in a number of ways, but all things considered, I think Mac and Win are superior overall, unfortunately. ๐</p>

<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@kev" class="u-url mention">@<span>kev</span></a></span> exactly why I dual boot. i wholeheartedly believe Linux is superior, but reality is a lot of resources are sunk into windows support and development compared to Linux, so a lot of the things that take me ages to figure out on Linux will work OOTB on windows</p><p>running only Linux is a daily troubleshooting nightmare waiting to happen and running only windows is a ux and privacy nightmare. dual boot is getting the best of both worlds until Linux somehow catches up, hopefully</p>

I tried it about 20 years ago at about the same time I tried Suse and Mandrake, and I recall thinking it was comparatively decent, but then I found Gentoo and nothing comes close to Gentoo for a lot of things. Distros like Fedora now just seem bloated to me. And your stuck with things working how the maintainers decided, which isn't for me. I don't like things that "just work"...</p><p>But I do think you'd prefer a Plasma desktop. Fedora or not.</p>
