<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@poleguy" class="u-url mention">@<span>poleguy</span></a></span> it&#39;s so bad and so immensely impactful on my wellbeing that I would shell out the price of a new washer/dryer the same day without a thought simply because it would cost me more (in terms of wellbeing and income subsequently lost) to not do it</p><p>(I&#39;m too principled to actually do that but it&#39;s on my mind every time I fix something. I only had a washer break once though, it was easy to fix with a screwdriver and some swearing, and it was my own fault)</p>

used to frequent a certain bah kut teh spot with my ex. the owner was a friendly chinese guy and one time he was like "oh, so youre from russia? are you putin's cousin then?" and I was like sure whatever. came back one and a half years later and was like surely he won't remember me for that long. the guy came up to the table and was like "ah, putin's cousin? how's your girlfriend doing?" and I was like kms.
