It does this by contrasting the meat with the net; the novelty is when they mix. "But late stage capitalism dehumanizes its victims!" Maybe, but so does early stage communism. All systems that depend on quantification trend towards commoditization, whether that's a corporation put a price on everything or a government arranging "human resources" into its 5 year plan.
