<p>(the reason *that* is funny is that I'm already running and administering some of the absolute most cursed IM infrastructure anyone has ever deployed, so it's not like I'm _un_involved)</p>

<p>(the reason this is funny is because I've been involved with IM systems in the past and know better than to get involved; if I worked alone it would take several years of work before the result, whatever it's based on, is at all generally usable)</p>

"Blockchain" seems to mean any one of four different things as used in the wild, which I dislike because it means I never know which of the four different things people are discussing.</p>
