Ok, back to the ray tracer project for the day. Let's do some metal...

children’s education should always include the trenches because that is the eternal future

we can make it fun, learning entrenching in the sandbox, Drone Hide and Seek, LandNav in surreal moonscapes, Grenade Tag, etc

People are going to turn to whatever resource is available and they are comfortable with. I wished tools like HeyPi got more focus and didn't lose their own focus on emotionally intelligent LLMs.

There are people who view talking to an LLM as helpful or even therapeutic.

We know this already since people reported feeling "understood" by Eliza (Weizenbaum et al).

Any mockery or calling people "stupid" even if they fall back on LLMs to talk to shows a lack of understanding how sad and miserable and lonely and disconnected too many people's lives really are.

We all hug - mentally or physically - sooner or later the proverbial wireframe with fur glued on.

@gamingonlinux@mastodon.social I always find your affiliate GOG links completely broken/blocked on all browsers of mine, even without any special extensions installed. On my main Firefox browser, the tab just closes itself instantly. On other browsers i.e. Firefox Developer, Chromium, etc. it'd fail and the URL would be pointing to some sort of tracker that must've gotten blocked... somewhere.
Just to be specific, I mean this link in the article: https://af.gog.com/en/game/doom_2016?as=1636858786
You might already know this though, cos I feel like I have some vague memory of someone mentioning this to you either here or in a comment to your article in the past.
