I think, to your point, there is a barrier that you must get past (with computers as well) before you can start to enjoy the wide array of genuine possibilities. This *discerned* enjoyment is not a dopamine illusion — but it may be enabled by it. So I would say any study that concluded “without dopamine, people hated the flavour of chilis” rather than “without dopamine, people were overwhelmed and unable to discern the flavour of chilis” is deeply flawed.</p>
