All of our signals are noisy, but it&#39;s really important both for the credentialing role of educational institutions and for evaluating whether the teaching was successful. The imperfection of exams is clear - but I don&#39;t think they&#39;re a net negative.</p>

Rote memorization is an unfamiliar way to learn a library, but not always ineffective, at least not for me</p>
