<p>wine somehow does run win3.1 stuff under winevdm still (on my 64-bit machine!! i have no idea how they do it, x86_64 emulator?..) but the installer is fucked</p><p>so i decided on a different plan</p><p>if you run `unblob` on the raw diskette images, it can recursively unpack the entire thing including the embedded LZH streams in their custom PAK format, and then you just need to fix up the directory structure</p><p>modern tooling slaps</p>
