<p>Systems is anything that has interactions between multiple things to form one bigger than themselves thing.<br />It doesn&#39;t have to be strictly in service of other software, otherwise Embedded Systems would most often not be systems.</p><p>This can be on a &quot;low&quot; or &quot;high&quot; level. Efficiency or interaction with hardware systems have nothing to do with what a system or system programming is on a fundamental level.</p>
