That sector is directly responsible in lobbying for war and violence. Without wars they don't have a market to exist in.
You can see it in the US what a self serving machinery this is.
Applying capitalism to weapons development is a disastrous combination.

If you valued everyone's equally, you'd stay out of "defense".

What's less acceptable even for the non-"pacifists" (and I wouldn't even call myself a pacifist) is the defense industry selling military gear to cops! It's a lot harder to justify that as protecting life and freedom, especially of the minorities you supposedly welcome.

@aleksorsist I used to think along similar lines. And then Russian bombs started falling on my friends' heads in Ukraine. Their families were raped and murdered by Russian soldiers on the outskirts of Kyiv. I saw the dead bodies and rethought my approach.

It's easy to be a pacifist when no one is shooting at you. But humanity apparently isn't civilized enough for pacifism yet.

We get that you don't like defense companies as a rule. This view is not shared by many folks in Eastern Europe at the moment. If we exclude you because they don't like your views on pacifism or them because you don't see how their support of defense industry might protect life and freedom, we become a smaller community. The only people we're OK with excluding are those who would exclude or marginalize others (see: Nazis)

I'd say that's probably worse than some queer hardware designer making a post on mastodon, but go off I guess?

You are welcome in the community. So is FFX. So are our trans friends. The people who are not welcome are those who try to exclude others. They are welcome to fork KiCad and start their own community.

Went to report a bug on the Parallels forums and I just gotta say: I am impressed. Take notes, website hosts, this is how you respect your users in a dark political time.
