Workers that are being "replaced" are obviously getting the short end of the stick, but even the remaining workers aren't becoming more powerful (i.e. they aren't getting a higher salary or more benefits). The only ones that are benefitting are the executives and stakeholders.</p>

Executives are massively more destructive than I ever believed possible in my youth, even conservative outlets like HBR keep rewriting the same “layoffs are bad groupthink you dummies” studies and meta-analyses in increasingly exasperated tones, seemly unable to process just how bad CEOs are at their jobs</p>
