<p>I know I said I'd move on from this project, but I'm using it in an upcoming post and needed to refine the behavior a bit. And it's a fun project!</p>
<p>py-bugger 0.3.3 includes a --verbose (-v) flag. This means users don't see which file was modified unless they specifically request that information.</p><p>The goal is to replicate realistic bugs, and when new bugs appear we don't usually know which file is the problem.</p><p><a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Python" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Python</span></a> <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/Debugging" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>Debugging</span></a></p>
<p>As somebody whose first experiences with the ACM involve a paper being reject in part because the reviewer "found the use of hyphens distracting", I feel this particularly: </p><p><a href="https://cacm.acm.org/blogcacm/reversing-the-fossilization-of-computer-science-conferences/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="ellipsis">cacm.acm.org/blogcacm/reversin</span><span class="invisible">g-the-fossilization-of-computer-science-conferences/</span></a></p>
<p>I'm just not doing that. No.</p>
<p>This is a little article to introduce you to `bstr` a synthetic library for bigstrings in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/OCaml" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>OCaml</span></a>: <a href="https://blog.osau.re/articles/bstr.html" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">blog.osau.re/articles/bstr.html</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p>

<p>If the <a href="https://infosec.exchange/tags/fosstodon" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>fosstodon</span></a> thing has made me realize anything, it's how fragile all of this is. It doesn't take very much for me to start losing accounts that I follow, or accounts that follow me, because there may suddenly be people deleting those accounts, migrating to other instances, or in the worst case scenario, defederation. Each of those things leads to a loss of community which is why we're all here in the first place.</p>
<p>My honest opinion: Taxpayer money should be spent wisely. That means investing in <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/opensource" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>opensource</span></a> software, not expensive proprietary technology. Better value, more transparency, and no vendor lock-in.</p>
