<p>this kind of experience has me thinking about how accommodations/access tends to be framed in terms of first order effects (in my case: RA symptoms) &amp; not side effects of meds or how treatment itself (&amp; adjusting to changes in treatment) adds new barriers. clinically i’m “in remission” so it’s not even clear i would qualify for anything ADAish (though i have low certainly about this &amp; would be happy to be corrected)</p>

It polymerizes faster than 2-octyl, leading to shorter and brittle chains (not great for squishy humans) and breaks down sooner, potentially releasing formaldehyde into the not yet healed wound. <br />I wouldn&#39;t be surprised if 2-octyl actually also works better for gluing things that are subject to stress cycles due to it being less brittle...</p>

<p>my doc has given me an increased dose of the side effect-modulating drug, and that helps a lot but also decreases efficacy (RA symptoms start to come back). there’s more we can try and will try next but that’s where things are</p>

<p>one of the struggles I’ve been having with <a href="https://hci.social/tags/RheumatoidArthritis" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>RheumatoidArthritis</span></a> is that the first line medication i’m on works really well for managing symptoms, but has *brutal* fatigue (&amp; regular-bad nausea) for me as a side effect. it’s a weekly thing and i have to take it on weekends to avoid missing work. but then i lose my whole damn weekend, and i can really feel the stress accumulating from a lack of true rest</p>
