Gill was saying "you can't win a match without taking 20 wickets, so we need to make sure we have bowlers for that."

And instead the've gone for a conventional team.

(Can't blame him if even the real bowlers don't do all that well, though!)

@akshayn This is my concern. The non-Bumrah bowling has been pedestrian. Of course, helped along by poor fielding, which Bazball is perfectly suited to exploit.

I guess you’re saying they might be toast anyway?

Was watching a bit this morning and the non-Bumrah bowling was pretty uninspiring…

This ENG-IND #cricket test is going to turn into a test of Gill's captaincy: India won't score enough runs in the 3rd inning, and the question will be, does Gill overuse the fragile Bumrah or accept defeat in return for Bumrah being available for the whole series.

the 4F model tries to explain how people respond to stress replacing "fight or flight"

The 4Fs are “Fight, Flight, Fawn, and Freeze”; “Fawn” is more like “Appease” but we had to keep the mnemonic; "Freeze" is a defensive shrinking away in mild cases, but in severe cases can be tonic immobility
