We were told that he was placed on leave and his IU email would not work. This is, I think, pretty standard for professors who are investigated by the university (eg Francesca Gino, or people here punished for supporting Palestine, to pick two opposite examples).

There was no internal explanation of why any of this was happening. But these are actions would be consistent with a University investigation into some sort of alleged misconduct."

like, wtf? this doesn't sound right at all

Why publish your English version books in the Philippines?

*It's an English speaking country
*Prime age population who read
*100+ million Filipinos
*Self publish in the πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ is way cheaper than in the πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
*$1= almost 60 php
*If you're an international author, you can sell books at the same price

Basically people already use combinatorial optimization for logistics, so once you add disasters, you need to make the optimizer robust.

I like that work because it's unambiguously about the real problem (from what I can tell). Some "robust" software engineering can be about spherical cows.

You know how f*cked America is when academic authors are now refusing to publish their books in the US. I now receive messages to help them publish books in the Philippines, because it is also an English speaking country. Yes, the πŸ‡΅πŸ‡ is happy to publish your books in English.
