Me: And it's permanent.
Her: >:(

Younger sister told me she wants to get a tattoo. I have tattoos.
Her: I want to get a tattoo but mom will get mad.
Me: If I were you, I would get a tattoo right now. When mom finds out and gets upset with you, she won't be able to do anything because it's already done.

That older relative you do tech support for is probably not bamboozled by digital devices. They were guessing their way through Y/N ms-DOS and dodging Fatal Error cartoon bombs on Macs before you and the smartphone were born. Now they're older, wearier, and exasperated by digital coercion and the complication of simple things. They’re not listening to Bing Crosby while being amazed email exists. They’re listening to Queen while cursing enshittification & resenting the time it costs them and you.

Well, that was weird. Go out for our anniversary unknowing that we booked a table at the last *ever* service at the famous Arun's Thai restaurant, closing after 39 years. Met Arun. Ended up on the local news as well. https://www.fox32chicago.com/news/aruns-thai-restaurant-closes-after-almost-four-decades-chicagos-northwest-side

Last time I checked, these were hell more expensive and people recommended AirPods for that reason alone: decent for the price and bonus points if you have an iPhone, which are very good for accessibility.
