<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.social/@whitequark" class="u-url mention">@<span>whitequark</span></a></span> working with ancient versions of GCC, and a lot of GNU tools in fact, i&#39;m tempted to just remove them from the tarballs. they&#39;re worse than useless, they take up huge chunks of space, and they split them off into new files on a whim, so you end up with miles of &quot;Changelog.&lt;year&gt;&quot; and &quot;Changelog.&lt;numbered&gt;&quot; data you won&#39;t ever glance at, because... reasons?</p>

I know they want you to use flatpack, but there&#39;s A LOT that FlatPack can&#39;t do.</p><p>So far so good, though I&#39;m probably going ot gut the Cinnamon desktop and install KDE Plasma.</p>
