They must be allowed 27% of all purchases made on a website if a user clicks a link in an app? Even if those purchases are made on an Android phone?

@film_girl Hard disagree since Apple creates the dev tools and (minimally) updates them annually for each release - and IS EXPECTED TO SUPPORT THEM.

OR ELSE

If that is not acceptable, there can be no screaming or yelling when APIs change or changes occur that make your favorite app not work because they didn't follow Apple's guidelines.

@film_girl Using box sales at retail outlets to justify the 30% margin has always been ethically questionable, too.

My position for close to 15 years has been that it’s unconscionable for Apple to collect a commission off of purchases made outside the App Store. I’m glad the court had enough too. This is good for the ecosystem. There are still valid reasons to use the built-in IAP model. But as I railed about the Patreon situation last summer, enough is enough.

My colleague Tom Doeppner retired after 49 years of teaching at @BrownCSDept. On his last day of class, a whole bunch of faculty and staff showed up and sang a song we made for him. You know it's bad when the university stops serving lunch at faculty meetings.
