Although I'm on the same instance, I don't know what happened nor knew that something was going on.</p><p>Looks like things went south quite drastically, so I'm not expecting anything in depth, but: if I'd like to know more, where would I find details?</p>

I, and certainly other FOSS folks, appreciated it. FOSSTODON helped to spread the word about <a href="https://fosstodon.org/tags/RKWard" class="mention hashtag" rel="tag">#<span>RKWard</span></a>. Therefore, also thanks from this side.</p>
<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@kev" class="u-url mention">@<span>kev</span></a></span> Sadly, closure of fosstodon will be seen as a victory for those who've been stirring-up bad feeling against the instance and yourselves.</p><p>Forgetting the technical merit of a decentralised Fediverse, it's situations like this which will ultimately make it fail.</p><p>Having been on the receiving end of the vocal minority myself, I ask (daily) whether it's really worth the effort of being here.</p>

Even though I'm not on Fosstodon, I feel for the vast majority of happy users of the instance who may be forced to relocate as a result of this.</p>

I have greatly appreciated your approach to maintaining this instance (otherwise I wouldn't be a Fosstodon supporter!).</p><p>I am sorry you are leaving fosstodon, and I would not be surprised if <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://fosstodon.org/@mike" class="u-url mention">@<span>mike</span></a></span> does the same. But I am sad that you feel that it's all been bad for the past several years.</p><p>And I am sad that fosstodon will shut down. π¦</p>
