<p>7/ Better: seems to have a way better buit-in mic. I can use it on Zoom calls and people tell me it's great. Supplants 7. Worse: its audio control button (forward/back/…) seems WAY less reliable than on the 8. It's really a hit or miss what the control will do. ↵</p>
<p>6/ But this April, my 8's volume control button (which also, critically, controls power!) went wonky and only sporadically works. So I got a 9. The 9 is strictly both better and worse! ↵</p>

<p>5/ I can't really tell. But, the dongle switches devices (eg, Zoom uses it as the audio) so if you have the headset off, you don't hear and aren't heard, because it's quietly still the audio device. Some annoyances like that. But still, great for long periods of Zoom! ↵</p>
<p>4/ There's a noticeable quality dip going from 8 to 7, so I wouldn't want this as regular mic. Plus I don't want the mic when exercising. Plus there's one more nuisance. The OpenComm comes with a USB dongle ("Loop") that supposedly improves quality. ↵</p>
<p>3/ When I tried to use it as a mic, people said it didn't sound very good: I sounded distant, etc. Since I do a lot of WFH calls, I got the 7, which has an extra mic that comes down to your mouth. It's been great for calls! But it has two weaknesses: ↵</p>
<p>2/ After growing tired of (and losing) in-ear buds, people on Twitter suggested I try the 8. It's *amazing*. For the most part [see below], I just can't imagine sticking things in my ears any longer. I've used the 8 since Sep 2021 and love it. But: ↵</p>
