Welp, it's frozen water bottle time again!

I use an insulated Camelbak half-filled with water with a full dose of Skratch powder. Then freeze it. Before leaving for my ride, I top it with water. Start using it half-way through. Stays cold, and level of salts increases. Perfect!

@kookie like, i was upset enough that after being an early adopter in a linux distro i co-created i seriously considered resurrecting and maintaining initng (i trialed upstart too, it was terrible)

@kookie i am

systemd regularly does the moral equivalent of someone you dont know coming to your house and rearranging your shit until something breaks

you're free to love that but i do not

@emersion thank you

@jcoglan gee, trying new ideas for open source maintenance sustainability, I should consider trying that

Apart from the fact that there's nothing that runs via Wayland that I would be willing to use, frankly the Wayland people are alienating me fast.

It seems like a system designed by kids who don't know how to use mice or keyboards properly for other kids with keen eyes, almost with the goal of pissing off old timers.

People are still upset about systemd in 2025?!
With wayland I kiinda get why people dont like it, lots of stuff didn't work at first (like screensharing), and its easy to project other frustrations on that.

But systemd? Maybe I'm showing my (lack of) age because systemd has kinda always been a part of my linux systems. And I dont remember the 1-2 times i had to touch a debian 6 or upstart ubuntu to be particularly enjoyable activities either.

And I especially don't see how you'd have the energy to be relentlessly arguing about an init system for over a decade.

@emersion WSI?
