<p>It made the connector routing so much easier. Otherwise I&#39;d have to swizzle lanes in all kinds of awkward ways with lots of mid-span vias and criscrossing. It&#39;s much cleaner this way.</p>

@whitequark@mastodon.social @ireneista@irenes.space @eri@mk.moth.zone Plenty of lateral forces on my monitor since I regularly rotate it. the cable does pop out sometimes but it's not so bad as to be unusable
<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://soc.megatokyo.moe/users/wyatt" class="u-url mention">@<span>wyatt</span></a></span> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://adhd.irenes.space/@ireneista" class="u-url mention">@<span>ireneista</span></a></span> <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mk.moth.zone/@eri" class="u-url mention">@<span>eri</span></a></span> then you aren&#39;t comparing apples to apples: most miniusb failures i&#39;ve seen were of phones, where the connector is likely to experience the most insertions and the most violent lateral forces</p><p>if you&#39;re comparing type-C as used in phones with mini-B at a desk job, obviously the latter would seem more reliable</p>

@whitequark@mastodon.social @ireneista@irenes.space @eri@mk.moth.zone well yeah nothing of mine is battery powered using mini usb thankfully
