I develop apps for users. The iPhone delivered users, and thus was compelling. If visionOS had users, developers would care. It’s never been about Apple.</p>

But without a compelling reason to use it it languishes. But apart from niche use cases it will never be a primary device. I wont deal with this bullshit just to check email or message someone.</p><p>I think developers are struggling to see where their app "fits" the device and for the most part their apps can’t fit. And for other devs there's just not enough market to make sense spending time on it.</p>

Not sure i agree with your assessment, but I don't disagree either. There's just no compelling reason to use it - everyone i talk to (incl. some of my former coworkers on the team that built it) says they love it for movies… But it's a $4k movie device…</p><p>For me it's a “satellite” device I only use every once in a while. And as such it's a pain in the ass, the battery is dead, the OS is out of date, it's a burden to wear, keep lenses clean etc etc. So i don't bother.</p>

It’s the first new Apple thing I haven’t really had any interest in buying.</p>
