Microsoft doesn’t have the chops to develop a mobile OS for a gaming handheld(that works well).

As evidence…my windows 7 phone…my Dell pocket PC…my netbooks (plural)…the Nokia nonsense…that Windows itself is a bloated resource hog in its slimmest form…that Xbox hasn’t come close to dethroning Sony…that Steam is successful on windows…that other handheld gaming pcs are already around and barely popular…and finally…the Switch exists.

Bjango turns 20 years old this month! 🎉 We’re incredibly grateful for the amazing community and friends we've met along the way. Thank you. https://bjango.com/articles/twodecades/

@gamingonlinux Yeah, I have heard the news.

The idea behind this is to ensure that #Windows stays Number 1 in gaming. This is a strong signal to the #gaming industry. Don't even think of supporting #steamos for desktop! Because we are WINTEL and we want to dominate the market for sure.

The question is: who needs yet another mobile PC device? There are plenty, including the Steam Deck. And the #xbox brand ain't so strong any longer ...

@gamingonlinux Gabe Newell was right. Microsoft wants a bigger piece of the PC gaming pie, and that's going to be an uphill battle for Steam on Windows.

Valve has done great work, but it took some time. I'm worried Valve's Linux efforts might not be able to keep up, but I sure hope so.
