@cell@pl.ebin.zone sorry for going deep into this tangent but It's something I've thought a lot about there is a perception that muslim dynasties (and muslims in general) were often very oppressive towards hindus or hindu culture but a lot of it was largely or was capable of being largely ignored but the creation of pakistan and how quickly it became obsessively islamic (even prior to the military takeover the one hindu founder of pakistan escaped there citing discrimination) meanwhile indian nationalism was largely based on the secular cooperation of hindus and muslims and that remained for a long time and is still quite significant now and all but the hypocrisy of all this really made the existing animosity and groups devoted to it much much worse and with a perception that the INC was catering too much to muslims at the cost of hindus; led to the present situation tbh and it really banked on the perception that all this was an impending danger to the very existence of hinduism and it really wasn't helped by growing islamic fundamentalism thanks to the USA. Like all this has made cooperation between hindus and muslims so difficult because there is a very visible scar and causes a lot of problems and tensions
